LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
The Minnesota Humanities Center recognizes and acknowledges the Indigenous people, Anishinaabe and Dakota, that have had the longest relationship to land and place that we all now call home – Minnesota. This land is and will always be Indigenous land. MHC recognizes the wisdom of our Indigenous ancestors who call upon us to treat the land as caretakers of the land of our children’s grandchildren.

We also recognize the contributions of our various ancestors who came to Minnesota and to the United States. We recognize those ancestors who came this place in search of a better life for themselves who once recognized as the other. We also recognize those ancestors who were brought against their will who gave us lessons of perseverance and resilience.
