NYILA Webster is a native of Kansas City, MO. During her modest mid-western upbringing, she listened to the melodies of Natalie Cole, Mini Rippleton, Denise Williams and the Emotions. These phenomenal and accomplished singers greatly influenced and inspired the style and genre that she sings today!
Nyila first became aware of her unique singing talent while attending high school. At fifthteen years of age, she auditioned for a Starlight Theater Production. The judges were blown away by her perfect pitch acapella rendition of “Home” from the famous musical the “WIZ”. She would later join a band singing backup for a popular local artist on the weekends. After several years of singing backup for her, she put together her own group called PLUSH. They performed with Kansas City’s own Grand Jury Band who later changed their name to Low-Key (the chart topping Minneapolis oriented ensemble). She along with her dynamic trio had the spectacular experience of performing the National Anthem for their hometown baseball team the ROYALS! They were often seen around town representing their city as the KC Dream girls! Another amazing event that will always be dear to her heart was the New Year’s Eve performance at Prince’s Paisley Park! From there came numerous opportunities to open up for renowned musical artists such as Aaron Hall, Sounds of Blackness, Avant and Smokie Norful just to name a few. Nyila is most noted for being able to sing ANY song and for the ability to sound like anyone she chooses! What a profound talent for the world to see!
This new release entitled “YOU CAN COME HOME” with it’s heartfelt message is sure to serenade your ears leaving you with a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Nyila hopes that this song will unite couples that have been separated to help mend broken relationships in hopes of finding that spark again and to come back to try LOVE once more. Professional saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, educator, arranger, mentor and music producer. Walter Chancellor Jr. has been a mainstay in the Twin Cities contemporary Jazz and R&B music scene for the past 25 years. After constant touring during his formative years he decided to relocate to musically successful Minneapolis from Des Moines, Iowa and lessen the necessity of so much traveling to perform. Not long after his arrival in Minneapolis, Walter performed and recorded with Prince, earning him a Double Platinum Record for his participation on Prince’s “Emancipation” CD in 1996. Additionally, Walter has performed, recorded and has shared the stage with such artists as Chaka Khan, Willie NelsonMaceo Parker, Candy Dulfer, Chance Howard (Prince, Candy Dulfer & Brian Culbertson), Brown Mark Mazarati, Musiq Soulchild, Larry Graham, the late Louis Johnson, Cameo, The Pointer Sisters, Bobby Lyle, The Platters and Producer greats as Chris “Big Dog ”Davis, Andre Fischer and Jack Douglas just to name a few. For the past 25 years, Walter has been a mainstay, expertly teaching Audio and Video Post Production for the “Institute of Production and Recording” (IPR) in Downtown Minneapolis since 2002. He has been instrumental in the successful careers of many IPR Alumni that he personally taught and mentored. To give back to the Twin Cites community that has supported his creativity, Walter helped launch and is one of a few founding members of the Twin Cities Mobile Jazz Project and After School program in Minneapolis and St. Paul. The program is designed to expose adults and children to Jazz Culture, technology, music history and gladly educates them about our great American art form, JAZZ and other multimedia art endeavors & opportunities.

While Andre has always contributed fierce funk to the artists he collaborated with, Still A Thrill being the shining example, he first debuted the most furious funk for his own forthcoming solo record when he previewed songs live at Paisley Park New Years Eve in 2019/2020. Andre Cymone is an accomplished singer, songwriter and record producer. Raised in Minneapolis, Cymone and his schoolmate Prince laid the foundation for the revolutionary “Minneapolis sound.” With three solo albums spawning several R&B hits Cymone also established himself as an in-demand producer, co-writing and producing songs for a diverse array of acts, including Adam Ant, Jody Watley, Tom Jones and Tina Turner.
In 2012, Cymone returned from a self-imposed recording hiatus emerging as a musical activist speaking to our times with songs like “America” and “Trayvon” inspired by the murder of an unarmed black teenager. Cymone went on to release two critically acclaimed independent albums, The Stone and 1969, giving us “Black Man in America,” a rallying cry for justice.
Andre was back in the Studio working on his sixth full-length album and released the track “Our World Is on Fire” early as a clarion call during the summer of 2020. Cymone says the full collection “will be a Resurrection Of The Funk and a return to my roots.”

Past MN State Fair performers Caitlyn Smith, Tank and The Bangas and The War And Treaty will headline the Virtual Celebration of Culture and Community 2020 three-day concert series supported by The Minneapolis Foundation as part of the Fair’s At-Home Edition, also shining a spotlight on four local non-profits doing outstanding work in the community.
As soon as we learned we weren’t going to be able to gather in-person this year for the Great Minnesota Get-Together, we started thinking of ways we could bring a celebration of culture and community to you, the community, in a safe fashion. As a MN State Fair partner for the past five years, OMG Media felt we could provide creative value to the Fair’s At-Home Edition by doing what we do best, digital media content creation. We decided to welcome back some of your favorite past Fair performers for a nostalgic Labor Day weekend celebration. As part of the Celebrate Culture and Community concert series, OMG Media is also highlighting four local non-profits whose missions reflect outstanding service to the community. They are: ARTS-Us, Philando Castile Relief Foundation, St. Jude and Ujamaa Place.
The #CCC2020 concert series will premiere on YouTube at 6:00pm (CT) on Saturday, September 5, and continue through Labor Day. The series will also be included in the Minnesota State Fair’s At-Home Edition, which will appear on the Fair’s website and social media channels. In addition to links to OMG Media’s concert series, there will be daily fun fair facts, memories, demonstrations and entertainment, history tidbits, creative contests and more. The State Fair’s At-Home Edition will run August 27 through September 7.

No stranger to adversity, the pandemic inspired the men in Ujamaa’s Music Therapy program to start their very own music group, Ujamaa Music Group (UMG).
